ATLANTA - The Fort Hays State women's basketball team had a pair of student-athletes earn WBCA All-America recognition, announced Wednesday by the coaches organization. Talexa Weeter was one of 10 players nationwide to earn a spot on the coaches All-America list, while Brooke Loewe earned honorable mention accolades.

This is the first time in program history that the Tigers have had multiple student-athletes earn All-America recognition in the same season.

One of the best scorers in the country, Weeter led NCAA Division II and ranked second across all levels of NCAA women's basketball with an average of 27.5 points per game. She broke a 20-year-old MIAA scoring record with 852 points, 13th-most in a single season in DII history and the most by a DII student-athlete since 2018.

The MIAA, D2CCA Central Region and D2CCA Ron Lenz National Player of the Year also broke both the school and conference records for scoring average and is the first player in MIAA history and the second at FHSU to score more than 800 points in a season.

A native of Goodland, Kan., Weeter scored in double figures in all 31 games this season, with that streak extending to 41-straight dating back to 2024-25. She scored 20-plus 26 times, including 12 games with 30 or more and two games with more than 40. Weeter tallied a season-high 46 points in the first round of the NCAA Central Regional, tying the FHSU single-game record.

The junior racked up 10 double-doubles on the year, ranking third in the MIAA with an average of 8.9 rebounds per contest. She ranked second in the league with a field goal percentage of 51.5 percent and was third with an average of 1.9 made 3-pointers per game while earning five MIAA Player of the Week honors.

The majority of Weeter's 297 field goals came off assists from Loewe, who now ranks second in a single season in Division II history with 310 assists this season. The senior is one of three players across all divisions NCAA basketball, men's and women's, with 300 or more assists this season, with the other two leading teams to the DI men's Sweet Sixteen (Braden Smith - Purdue - 333 assists, Jeremy Fears, Jr. - Michigan State - 321 assists) and is the only player to average in double figures in assists.

Loewe is the sixth player in DII history and the 25th player in the history of women's basketball to reach 300 assists in a season. She is just the fourth DII player to average 10 or more assists per game and is the first to do so in 29 years.

The Huxley, Iowa native dished out 10 or more assists 16 times in 31 games this season, including seven games with 14 or more dimes. No other DII athlete had multiple 14-assist games this season, with just four accomplishing the feat even once. Her school-record 17 assists against Nebraska-Kearney were the most in a game across all levels of NCAA women's basketball this season.

Loewe was one of three players in Division II with multiple triple-doubles this season, recording two in a span of nine days against Emporia State (11p, 10r, 11a, 2/12/26) and Pittsburg State (12p, 10r, 12a, 2/21/26). The first triple-double was FHSU's first since 2014.

The point guard nearly averaged a double-double, putting up 9.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest while ranking second in the MIAA with an average of 2.16 steals per night. She recorded seven double-doubles on the year and ranked second in the MIAA and 14th in the country with an assist/turnover ratio of 2.18.

Fort Hays State is one of three schools with multiple WBCA All-Americans this season, with both Eckerd and Texas Woman's placing a pair of student-athletes on the 30-player honorable mention list.

After Weeter became the seventh different Tiger to earn All-America honors on Tuesday when she was named the D2CCA Ron Lenz National Player of the Year, Loewe is now the eighth All-American in team history.
