Ramona McCarty, 80, passed on to heaven on April 4, 2022 at her home in Banning, Ca.
She was born August 15, 1941 in Stratton, NE to Steven and Frances (Pallas) Horinek.
She married Richard (Dick) McCarty on April 27, 1963 in Atwood, KS.
Ramona was a Registered Nurse Practitioner and started her career at Rawlins County Hospital and the medical clinic in Atwood, KS.
After moving to Hays, Kan., her career continued at St. Anthony Hospital and then she oversaw Hays Convenient Care walk in clinic. Ramona then moved to Oakley, Kan., where she worked at Logan County Hospital and New Frontiers Clinic till she retired on November 30,2010 after 48 years of service.
Survivors include her husband, Richard, of the home.
A son, Scott McCarty and companion Margarita, Aurora, CO.
Daughters: Sheila Randa and husband, Doug, Banning, CA,
Mona Funk and husband Mitch, Altamont, UT,
Chardy Hern and husband, Brad, Topeka, KS.
Sisters: Janice Braun,
Paulette Miller,
Maribeth McCarty.
Grandchildren: Doug Randa Jr. and wife Emily, Stefanie Randa,
Marissa Shiner and husband Blake, Remington Funk and wife Kali, Mike Hern and Nick Hern.
Great grandchildren: Braxton Randa, Brody and Jaedee Shiner and Remi Funk.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws, Stephen and Edith Ankle.
A sister, Theresa Kantor.
Brother in laws: Robert Braun, Frank Miller, Wayne McCarty and Theodore McCarty.
Sister in laws: Darlene Vyzourek, Roberta McCarty and Sharon McCarty.
A grandson, John McCarty.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
