Twila M. Ellis, 85, died on Friday, March 25, 2022, at Lakepoint Nursing
& Rehabilitation Center in Wichita. She was born on August 25,
1936, at Dighton the daughter of Lawrence Benjamin & Vivian Velma
(Proctor) Walter. She married Raymond Lee Ellis on June 14, 1953, at
Dighton. He died on February 14, 2015.
Most of her school years were in Dighton and she graduated from Dighton
High School with the Class of 1954. She was a homemaker for many years
before going to work outside of the home, for ALCO and then at Fidelity
State Bank retiring as a Vice-President and Branch Manager. Twila was a
member of several organizations including Finney Co. RSVP; the Senior
Association; the Eagles Auxiliary and served on the FCCA Board for
several years plus she worked with 4-H Leaders, HDU units and many bank
related organizations. Twila loved her family and spent as much time
with them as possible. She had three hobbies that she loved and spent
hours at, collecting butterflies, eggs, and sunflowers. She loved to
garden and simply be around people.
She is survived by her 3 Sons- Craig and his wife Barb of Wichita, Doug
and his wife Sandi of Ingalls and J.D. and his wife Lori of Topeka,
Daughter- Nancy Dahlinger and her husband Eric of Wichita, 12
Grandchildren: 15 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild along
with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents;
husband; her brother Larry Joe Walter; her sister Susan Walter Lewis
and a Granddaughter- Kimbra Ellis Hahn.
Memorial Service will be at 10:30 AM Saturday April 23, 2022, at Garnand
Funeral Home in Garden City. The service will be Facebook Live on the
Garnand Funeral Home facebook page. Burial will be in Valley View
Cemetery in Garden City.
