LaVerna (Korbe) Molleker, age 97, of Hays, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Country Living of Larned, in Larned Kansas.
She was born on April 24, 1929, at Munjor, Kansas to Chrysostom A. and Catherine (Meier) Korbe Sr. She married Jacob Molleker Jr. on April 19, 1949, at Munjor, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 7, 2014.
LaVerna was a Licensed Cosmetologist. She owned and operated LaVerna’s Beauty Shop in Hays, Kansas for over 45 years. She grew up and attended grade school in Munjor, and was a valedictorian graduate of Schoenchen High School. She was a member of the Hays V.F.W. Auxiliary Post No. 9076, and a former member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Hays. She lived her lifetime in Hays until moving to Beloit, Kansas in 2014, and then to Larned in 2021.
She was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed baking, being a mom, grandma, great grandma, and a great great grandma.
LaVerna is survived by her children, Donald Lee Molleker and wife, Robyn Brooks, Marion, KS; Jacques Molleker, Larned, KS; Errol Francis Molleker, Hays, KS; Gilletta A. Molleker and husband, Kelly Kimerer, Beloit, KS; her 15, grandchildren; her 13 great grandchildren; her three great great grandchildren; and her brother, Chrysostom Korbe, Jr., Battle Ground, WA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chrysostom and Catherine Korbe Sr.; her husband, Jacob Molleker Jr.; her brother, Willard Korbe and wife, Romona; her infant brother, Marvin Korbe; her sisters, Twila Campbell and husband, Earl; Bernita Younger and husband, Marvin; her daughter-in-law, Joan Molleker; and her grandson, Wesley Paul Molleker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 31, 2026, at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Munjor, Kansas with Celebrant, Father Damian Richards.
Burial will be in Saint Francis of Assisi Cemetery. Munjor, Kansas.
A Vigil Service and Rosary with a V.F.W. Auxiliary Memorial Service will be at 6:30 P.M. Thursday, at Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory-Brock's Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays, Kansas 67601.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, at Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory-Brock's Chapel and from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Friday, at Saint Francis Catholic Church, Munjor, Kansas.
