HAYS, Kan. - Director of Athletics Dr. Lisa Goddard McGuirk has announced the hiring of Quinlin Bisbee as Fort Hays State's new Head Sports Performance Coach. Bisbee will join the Tiger staff beginning June 8, 2026.
Bisbee previously worked in strength and conditioning at Adams State University. His four-year stint in Alamosa, Colo. included serving as the director of strength and conditioning for one and a half years, working as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for three semesters and one year as a graduate assistant.
"I am incredibly excited to join the Fort Hays family and be able to work alongside so many great student-athletes, coaches and staff members," said Bisbee. "It is an honor to be able to step into the role of Head Sport Performance Coach and have the opportunity to improve the abilities of all of our athletes both on and off the playing surface. I want to say thank you to all those that have supported me in my career, allowing me to grow and become the man and coach that I am."
An NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, he has helped the Grizzlies finish in the top 20 in the Learfield Directors' Cup every year since his arrival and has worked with nearly 100 All-American athletes. Bisbee developed and implemented programming for 12 varsity sports, helping the women's basketball team to three-straight NCAA tournaments, helping the baseball team to its first RMAC tournament game victory and helping the women's soccer team to its first-ever RMAC tournament appearance.
"We are thrilled to welcome Quinlin to Fort Hays State University as our new Head Sports Performance Coach," said Dr. Goddard McGuirk. "His commitment to collaboration, innovation and an evidence-based approach to performance training aligns seamlessly with our collective vision for student-athlete development. Quinlin's experience leading a collegiate-level strength and conditioning program reflects a deep understanding that elite performance requires an individualized approach tailored to the unique demands of each sport, position and student-athlete. His philosophy, centered on comprehensive sports performance, recovery and long-term athletic development, focuses on maximizing performance while prioritizing the overall well-being and success of our student-athletes. Equally important, Quinlin values strong collaboration with coaches, sports medicine staff, and administrators to create a unified and holistic performance environment."
Bisbee played football at Edward Waters University in his hometown of Jacksonville, Fla. for three seasons, serving as team captain in his final season with the Tigers, before finishing out his career at ASU where he played both offense and defense.
He completed a bachelor's degree in biology with honors at Edward Waters University in 2022 before completing a masters in exercise science at Adams State University in 2026.
