Dennis Lee Engel, age 65, of Hays, Kansas passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2020, in Hays surrounded by loved ones. He was born January 20, 1955, in Hays to Victor Engel and Viola (Dougherty) Engel.
Dennis worked at LK Dairy and the 24/7 convenience store as the assistant manager and manager where he retired after 38 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, fantasy sports, playing baseball and softball.
He married Carol Herl on January 22, 1986. They later divorced.
He is survived by his mother, Viola Engel of Hays, one son, Eric (Jamie) Engel of Hays, two daughters; Jennifer (Travis) Ratliff of Greeley, CO and Kelli Engel of Hays, KS; one brother Steve (Robin) Engel of Hays; two sisters Alice (Larry) Robben of Hays, and Lois (Ralph) Augustine of Hays; Grandchildren include Brandon Ratliff, Brianna Ratliff, Evan Cosgriff - Guthrie, Abigail Engel and two step grand children Robert Brown and Sabrina Brown.
He was preceded in death by his father, and brother Cliff, and brother in law Larry Robben.
Memorial services will be Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Messiah Lutheran Church of Hays, 2000 Main Street, Hays, KS 67601.
