Ronald Francis Brenner

Ronald Francis Brenner, age 63, died at his home on February 22, 2024.  He was born on June 30, 1960, in Larned, Kansas, the son of Benedict and Margaret (Klug) Brenner.

Ron graduated from Thomas Moore Preparatory School, Hays and then went on to attend Kansas State University where he received his bachelor’s degree.  Ron was a farmer and rancher working with his family on the farm.  He also worked to help people secure loans with Farmer’s Bank and Trust in Bazine.  Ron was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Ness City where he was also a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.  Ron played bass and was the lead vocal for the bands, Over the Limit and the Moody Hooters. Ron was a proud supporter of President Donald Trump and has many canceled checks to prove it.  When Ron wasn’t busy in the bank, operating a tractor, working cattle, or entertaining crowds. He enjoyed fishing, drives, and trips or as he put it “wherever the pickup will take us” with Kristi and other family members.

Ron is survived by his longtime companion and sweetheart, Kristi Gerstner of Ness City; seven siblings, Rhonda Stramel and her husband, Glenn, of Munjor, Darrell and his wife, Barbara, of Ness City, Gary and his wife, Marya, of Beeler, Douglas of Oakley, Randell and his wife, Kathy, of Ness City, Carolyn Durler and her husband, Claude, of Dodge City, and Diane Drewes and her husband, Cedric, of Dodge City; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Margaret.

A rosary will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, 6:30 p.m. followed by visitation at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.  A Memorial Mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, 11:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life reception. The family requests that everyone wear casual or K-State attire.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Donald Trump 45 & 47 campaign, K-State Alumni or the Christ Pilot Me Hill.
