TOPEKA – The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has rescinded a stream advisory that was issued Thursday for the Wolf Creek near Lucas and the Saline River from Lucas to Culver Kansas in Russell, Lincoln, Ottawa, and Saline counties
The stream advisory was a result of an ongoing investigation by Environmental Protection Agency and KDHE to identify a potential substance.
The unknown substance has been identified as a nontoxic algae that causes brown discoloration of water. KDHE has deemed the stream safe for secondary (wading) contact and livestock use.
