Elta Ileen (Detjen) Rall passed away September 13, 2020 at the age of 87. She was born August 8, 1933 in Sheridan County Kansas to Albert and Ella (Hesterberg) Detjen. She married Elmer Rall April 9, 1961 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hoxie, Kansas. To this union three sons were born, Doug, David and Dennis.
Elta worked at many businesses in Hoxie including the Hoxie Grade School. She babysat for numerous children and also became an accomplished seamstress, patching jeans, making clothes for her children and sewing many quilts for her family members. Gardening was also a well-loved past time for her.
Elta is survived by sons Doug (Lisa), David (Sandy) and Dennis all of Hoxie; grandsons Clayton (Megan) of Tucson, Arizona and Taylor (Alex) of Hoxie; and two great granddaughters, Brandon of Tucson, Arizona and Crimsyn of Hoxie; sister Agnes Lewis of Colby and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in Death by her husband, Elmer Rall; parents, Albert and Ella; sister, Arleta Detjen; and brother-in-law, Larry Lewis.
Elta loved to be around her family especially her grandchildren and will be missed by all.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020, 10:00 A.M. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hoxie, Kansas. Interment will follow the service in the Hoxie City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at the Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home in Hoxie, Kansas from 11:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. The family will be at the visitation from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. to receive friends.
