HAYS - The Hays High gold team of Kaiden Bunger, Logan Chance, Henry Fitzhum, Xavier Catura, Kale Schwien and Ken Shaffer finished in first place at Hays Varsity Invitational Monday.
The Indians 'Gold' scored 36 points and finished 10 points ahead of second place Liberal.
Both the No. 1 Doubles team of Henry Fitzthum and Xavier Catura and the No. 2 Doubles team of Kale Schwien and Ken Shaffer both went 5-0 and finished in first place.
Kaiden Bunger went 3-2 and finished third at No. 1 Singles. Logan Chance went 1-4 and finished fifth in No. 2 Singles.
The Hays 'Maroon' No. 2 Doubles team of Preston Parr and Mason Schleicher went 4-1 and placed second. William Linenberger finished fourth in No. 2 Singles after going 3-2. The No. 1 Doubles team of Carsen Riat and Jack Scoby went 1-4 and finished in fifth place.
