PITTSBURG, Kan. - The Fort Hays State men's track and field team placed eighth at the 2026 MIAA Indoor Championships Sunday with a final tally of 25.5 team points, seven national qualifying performances and one school record.
The Tigers hit a pair of national qualifying thresholds on day three, including Hunter Angove who tied for fourth in the pole vault with a season-best clearance of 16-6.5 to contribute 4.5 team points.
The 4x400m relay team of Avrey Albright, Mayan Paz, Jayden Michaelis and Drew Tolar ran a national qualifying time of 3:13.95, placing fifth and earning five team points. That time is fourth-best at FHSU during the DII era.
Farrin Mangelson ran the 3,000m in 8:28.24, finishing in ninth place and ranking seventh on the FHSU DII era chart.
The Tigers will now await the announcement of selections for the 2026 NCAA Division II Indoor Championships, scheduled for Tuesday (March 3). The indoor track and field championships will be held March 13-14 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
