🏃‍♀️ TMP-Marian girls' win Norton Regional

NORTON – The TMP-Marian girls’ cross country team had five runners finish in the top-20 and won the won the Norton 3A Regional Saturday at the Prairie Dog Golf Course in Norton.

The regional championship qualifies the Monarchs for next Saturday’s 3A State Cross Country Meet in Wamego.

The Monarchs scored 26 points, three less than second place Norton.

Sophomore Sophia Allen led the Monarchs with a time of 21:26.24 and placed seventh. Senior Abby Rueschhoff placed ninth (21:47.02), senior Kyleigh Allen 12th (22:15.94), freshman Allison Weber 13th (22:16.15) and sophomore Julianna Baalmann 18th (22:58.62).

The Monarch boys finished third, 47 points behind second place Minneapolis.

Only the top two teams and top 10 individuals qualify for state.

TMP-Marian sophomore Braydon Binder finished 15th with a time of 19:21.51. Monarch freshman Caden Becker finished 20th with a time of 19:43.76.
