Ronald N. Wilson, 67, died July 13, 2024 at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.

He was born May 8, 1957 in Dodge City, the son of Ray L. and Rowena Kay Sorem Wilson.

A lifetime area resident he was a farmer and rancher. He graduated from Fort Hays State University in 1979 with a Bachelors Degree in Business. During his time at FHSU he was a member of Phi Eta Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi, and Alpha Kappa Pi honor societies. He was a fan of KU Basketball, Chiefs Football, and the Kansas City Royals. In his spare time, Ronnie enjoyed playing rec softball and volleyball, loved water and snow skiing, and hunting. He was always willing to learn a new game and helped on the chain gang and at track meets. He was a member and Elder of the United Presbyterian Church, Jetmore and served as the finance officer for forty years. In his younger years he also helped with youth group. Ronnie loved being a rancher and farmer and his pets (but he believed they should stay outdoors). He loved being a father and grandfather and teaching his children and grandchildren to ride horses and ski. A highlight throughout his life was to go watch his children and grandchildren’s activities and sports events.

On June 11, 2011 he married Paula J. Fillmore at Jetmore; she survives.

Other survivors include: children, Robin (Brian) Beil, and Rustin Wilson, both of Jetmore; step children, Lee (Alisha) Wehkamp, Ingalls, Matt Wehkamp, Ingalls, Lindsay (Hayden) Borth, Montezuma; two brothers, Rodney Wilson, Jetmore, Ross (Cindi) Wilson, Hays; five grandchildren, Shaylei, Malynn, Ashlynn, Brynn, Alec; four step grandchildren, Maverick, Rylee, Miller, Sadie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Ryan Wilson.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at United Presbyterian Church, Jetmore, with Pastor Mark Durham presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2024 at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
