RUSSELL – The TMP-Marian baseball team was trailing Russell/Victoria 3-0 when high winds halted play in the top of the fifth in game one of their doubleheader at the Shaffer Field Sports Complex. The game had been halted for almost an hour and half after two innings due to lightning in the area

No decision on any make up date.

The Broncos scored a run in the first on a Jackson Cross one-out double then added two more in the fourth when Cross singled to center following and error and walk with two outs.

The Monarchs had one on with two outs in the top of the fifth when wind gusts made playing conditions nearly impossible due to blowing dirt and the game was suspended one out shy of being official.

The Monarchs are scheduled to host Sacred Heart in a doubleheader on Monday.
