Joel Carlton Graham, age 63, of Quinter, “fell asleep in Christ” (1 Cor. 15:12-20) Tuesday morning, October 13, 2020 at Gove County Medical Center in Quinter.
He was born on January 23, 1957 in Quinter, Kansas to Chester Edward and Carlene Edith (McWilliams) Graham.
“Joey,” as he was known by family and friends, made his way through the Quinter school system, graduating from QHS in 1975. He enjoyed and excelled in bookkeeping and business machine courses. During High School and for several years following Joey worked for his Uncle Jimmie Graham at the Q-Inn Restaurant eventually as a head cook. He later worked at Flex King Industries as an Accounting Assistant.
He lived in Denver, Colorado from 1985-1995, working for Hamilton Oil Company Inc., a Subsidiary of BHP Petroleum. He thoroughly enjoyed this life calling and attained to “Senior Assistant Office Services.” He moved back to Quinter in 1995 and spent the remainder of his days there in this earthly journey heavenward.
He was spiritually nurtured and led to saving faith by his parents and regularly attended Church throughout his entire life. Joey delighted in and maintained cordial relations with many fellow believers across denominational lines.
Joel is survived by his brother, Ron and wife Gay Graham, of Colorado Springs, Colorado and his sister, Marianne and husband Chris Pleich, of Lincoln, California and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Due to the current pandemic a private, informal burial will be observed by family and friends at the Baker Township Cemetery, East of Quinter.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated later at Sacred Heart Church, Park, Kansas at a convenient date yet to be announced.
