As a Heavy Equipment Operator at Solid Waste, you will be instrumental in operating various heavy machinery essential to our operations. Your expertise will contribute to the efficiency and success of our projects. We are seeking candidates with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Heavy Equipment Operator (Solid Waste):
- Pay: Typical base starting pay between $19.68-$20.89+ per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Opportunity for pay increase upon successful completion of introductory period. Twice yearly opportunities for pay increases!
- Schedule: 40 hours per week on a two-week rotation schedule is as follows: Week #1: Monday-Thursday (8a-5p) + Friday (8a-12p); Week #2: Tuesday-Thursday (8a-4p), Friday (8a-5p), and Saturday (9a-4p). This allows for 3.5-day weekends every other week.
- Requirements: Valid Class B commercial driver’s license with tanker endorsement, 24-hour household hazardous waste certification within six months of hire date.
No CDL? We can help! If you are eligible to obtain a CDL, we provide on-the-job training while you work full-time with benefits as an Equipment Operator ($17.78/hour).
If you are called to serve in a different type of environment, we are also looking to add to our paid-per-call Firefighter team. This is on an as-needed basis, and no prior experience is required, as detailed training is provided.
