Glendora Gaye Schmidt

Glendora G. Schmidt was born on July 19, 1927, to Dan and Dauvina Schmidt, Pawnee Rock, Ks. She died at home at the age of 94. She married Gene Schmidt on August 25, 1948.

Surviving are Becky (Jim) Cram, Salina, Ks., Rodney (Patty) Schmidt, Larned, Ks., John Schmidt, Pawnee Rock, Ks., Karl (Emily) Schmidt, Overland Park, Ks., Janet (Randy) Naus, Calhoun, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law: Jerry and Toni Schmidt, Harvard, Ne; 11 grandchildren: Marc Cram, Sara Schebo, Seth Schmidt, Shea Lopez, Somer Talkington, Jessica Schmidt, Nathan Schmidt, Allison Nicholson, Rachel Auten, Madison Naus, Taylor Naus and 4 great grandchildren: Kass Brennakate Fynch, Rowen and Lenna Nicholson, Owen Meade and Maris Auten and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her husband, her parents, a sister, Norma Strobel, a brother, Jay Dee Schmidt, a niece, Karla Strobel and a grandson, Scott Cram.

Glennie graduated from Pawnee Rock High School and worked at Dillions in Larned before becoming a farm wife and mother. She was active in her children’s activities, especially 4-H. As the children grew older, she worked for the 1st National Bank Larned as a teller and later for Carr Auction. She also loved caring for her grandchildren. An avid reader, Glennie had many friends and loved talking to them especially to share a good joke or story. She was a woman of strong faith and belonged to the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

A visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2021,  at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with family present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
