The work week will start off with blazing hot temperatures — with highs in the triple digits expected Monday and Tuesday — before a cold front brings a cooldown and a chance for rain.

The National Weather Service in Dodge City predicts clear skies and breezy conditions Monday and Tuesday, with overnight lows in the upper-60s to low-70s.

A cold front is expected to move into the area Wednesday afternoon, bringing a 20 percent to 40 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms through Thursday afternoon.

A high of just 80 is projected on Wednesday, dipping all the way to a high of 66 on Thursday, the NWS said.
