Delores Victorine Herskowitz, age 82, of WaKeeney, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney. She was born August 5, 1938, in Graham County, Kansas, to Michael and Isabelle V. (Scheck) Stefan.
She graduated from Trego Community High School with the class of 1956. Delores spent most of her working life as a cook. She loved family camping trips and spending time reading a good book. Delores cherished time spent with family, especially her grandkids. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary. She will be dearly missed by many.
Those left to mourn her passing include two sons, Joe (Ronda) and Mark (Tami), all of WaKeeney; grandchildren, Candi (Doug) Herskowitz of WaKeeney, Joseph (Jen) Herskowitz of Hoxie, Ashley (Dion) Neuburger of Hays, Marsha (Brian) Avery of Hays, Stephanie (Davvid) Stanley of Hays, Cassandra (Andy) Pucket of Minneola, Kansas, and Dustin Stefan of Albuquerque, New Mexico; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Delbert, Darrell, and Duane; and three sisters, Dorothy, Delinda, and Donna. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald; sisters, Darlene, Diana, Dorene.
A graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 21, 2020, at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery, WaKeeney.
