Hays city commissioners will vote during their Thursday meeting on a recommended low bid of $6.6 million to Smoky Hill, LLC, Salina, for reconstruction of the deteriorated crosswind runway 4-22 and Taxiway M at Hays Regional Airport.
The Federal Aviation Administration would pay for 95 percent of the project.
A consultant agreement for construction engineering services with Lochner, Lenexa, for $445,800 will also be voted upon. The FAA would again pay for 95 percent of the cost.

Three items for Covenant Estates 1st Addition in northwest Hays are up for a vote.
Commissioners will decide on a rezoning request, final plat and annexation of the property west of Thunderbird between 33rd and 41st streets.
