Hays received 3.5 inches of rain at the Eagle Media office during the weekend.
According to the K-State Ag Research Center, that brings Hays' precipitation for the month to 5.39 inches for the month and 11.50 inches for the year.
Hays has experienced drought earlier in the year, but the latest rain puts the city over its average as the end of June of 11.31 inches. Hays averages 3.38 inches in the month of June.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for a chance of rain Tuesday through Friday.
The forecast for today is sunny and a high of 78 and mostly cloudy skies tonight.
