72,000 miles. Diego Muller wrote an essay that Hays High Soccer coach Daniel Kelly referenced on Tuesday morning during the senior's signing day. Muller wrote that he had traveled 72,000 miles during his four year high school career playing soccer, traveling for camps, and training.
Just over 800 miles away is the next destination for the four-time Western Athletic Conference honoree. University of the Incarnate Word is a NCAA Division I program that is home to the Cardinals and now Diego Muller.
Diego Muller
Muller attended a camp at the college years ago and they had remained in contact with him ever since. Other colleges had interest, but in the end the combination of athletics, academics and culture won.
Muller was named to second team WAC his freshman season and first team the last three years.
Coach Daniel Kelly
Muller played club soccer with FC Wichita Soccer Club since 2017. His team was National Runner-Up in Dallas, Texas, last summer.
He finished his high school career as the sixth highest all-time leading scorer with 26 goals and 18 assists.
