
Mary B. Grigg, age 74, of Ulysses, Kansas, passed away Friday, March 19,
2021, at Kansas Medical Center in Andover, Kansas. She was born July
31, 1946, in Scott City, Kansas, the daughter of Ralph and Ethel
(Hopper) Hollingsworth.
Mary was born and raised in Scott City, Kansas, where she graduated high
school. She married Steven Grigg on January 1, 1963; together they
shared 58 wonderful years. Mary and Steve relocated to Ulysses in 1973.
Mary was a homemaker, a loving mother to their three sons and wonderful
cook. She spent time doing Bible studies at home, playing golf and being
involved with the Bridge Club. Mary worked as a secretary for Smyth Oil
& Gas for many years and retired from Alltech Electric. Mary was an
active and involved grandmother, she spent time in Kansas City and
Nebraska with her grandchildren, watching them play sports and succeed
in their academics.
Mary is survived by her husband Steven, of Ulysses; sons, Darren Grigg
and wife Lisa of Olathe, Kansas, Mason Grigg and wife Renee of Shawnee,
Kansas, and Jason Grigg and wife Brooke of McCook, Nebraska;
grandchildren, Tyler, Tanner, Holly, Robin, Jack, and Madison Grigg; and
sister, Connie Knobbe and husband Larry of Wilson Lake, Kansas.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Ethel; and sisters, Patricia Rudolph and Roberta Smith.
Memorial service will be Saturday, March 27, 2021, at 10:00 AM at
Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend
Kelly Gindlesberger officiating. The service will be live streamed on
Garnand Funeral Home Facebook page. Memorial contributions may be given
