SALINE COUNTY —Three people were injured in an accident just after 1p.m. Tuesday in Saline County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a pilot car, 2013 Chrysler 300 driven by Darlene McCall, 57, Houston, Texas, was stopped on Interstate 135 south of Interstate 70.

The driver was attempting to allow a 2016 Freightliner semi with an oversized load and driven by Earl James Griffin, Jr., 61, Wichita, to merge on northbound U.S. 81 from  northbound  Interstate 135.

EMS transported McCall, Griffin and a passenger in the Chryser Orozco, Rosa Maria Orozco, 69, Lyford, Texas, to Salina Regional Health Center. Weidman was not injured.

All four were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
