The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill watch that will be in effect from 6 p.m. Friday through Tuesday.
Thursday will start partly sunny, but Hays has a 50 percent chance of snow after 4 p.m. Wind chill values could be as low as zero Thursday night with gusts up to 20 mph.
New snow accumulation of less than a half inch is possible during the day, but as much as three inches could accumulate overnight, according to the weather service.

Snow is forecast to subside by midnight Thursday, but windchills could dip to as low as -13.
Friday's high is forecast for 18 with a low overnight of -6.
There's a 20 to 30 percent chance of snow in Hays between Saturday night and Sunday night. Highs Saturday through Monday will be in the single digitals with actual low temperatures being in negative numbers.
Tuesday is forecast to be sunny with a slight warm up to a high of 20.
