There is a slight risk of severe weather Wednesday in northwest Kansas, the National Weather Service in Dodge City reported. Strong winds, with gusts as high as 36 mph, and nickel-sized hail are possible.
Storms are expected to enter southwest Kansas by 4 to 5 p.m. Severe weather is expected to stay west of U.S. 283 and become less severe to the east.
There is a 40 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms in Hays beginning at approximately 7 p.m. More showers or thunderstorms are possible late Thursday.
