Patrick Wayne Schaffer, 71, passed away on May 4, 2026, in Salina, Kansas. He was born on September 25, 1954, to Julian and Theresa Schaffer of Liebenthal, Kansas.
Patrick graduated from La Crosse High School with the Class of 1972 and later graduated from Fort Hays State University. Following high school, he honorably served his country in the United States Navy from 1972 until 1978.
Throughout his working years, Patrick held several positions across Kansas and Texas. He worked for Texas Instruments in Texas for 13 years, later worked at Superior Essex in Hoisington, Kansas, and most recently at Phillips Lighting in Salina, Kansas.
Patrick is survived by his sisters, Edith Bollig and husband Jerry of Lakewood, Colorado, and Judy Kraemer and husband Andy of La Crosse, Kansas; along with his nieces and nephews, Michelle Bollig, John Bollig, Carla Gish, Carol Schaffer, Darla Schaffer, and AJ Kraemer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Theresa Schaffer; his brother, Robert Dale Schaffer; and his nephew, Mike Herrman.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Liebenthal, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M., with the Memorial Service beginning at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Liebenthal.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Liebenthal, Kansas, in care of the funeral home.
