
Richard Allen Lemon passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at the
Rooks County Health Center at the age of 79. He was born on December 13,
1941, to Floyd and Lucille (Highley) Lemon in Phillips County Valley
Township, Kansas. He was united in marriage to Janet B. Mueller on
September 24, 1960, at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Athol, Kansas.
The couple was blessed with three children: Ty, Monica, and Stacey.
Richard grew up in Smith Center and graduated from Smith Center High
School in 1959. He went to work as an electrician and later owned RJ
Electric in Plainville. He enjoyed his time in the outdoors hunting and
fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Ty (Brenda) Lemon of Chapman, KS,
Monica Ebbert of WaKeeney, KS, and Stacey (Pat) Dujakovich of Kansas
City, MO; siblings, Elda Lovin of Leoti, KS, and Cleta (Gary) Smith of
Smithville, MO; sister-in-law, Marion Lemon of Smith Center, KS; nine
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lucille Lemon;
wife, Janet Lemon; siblings, Donald Lemon and Edna (Larry) Carroll; and
son-in-law, Kim Ebbert.
Family has chosen private services.
