Marjory Nazarenus, 87, died Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains, Dodge City.

She was born on March 4, 1934 at the Gleason Hospital in Larned, the daughter of Harry and Viola (Davis) Tomlinson.

She attended District 61 Country Schools through the third grade and then into the Garfield School system.  She was a 1953 graduate of Larned High School and attended Bethany College in Lindsborg.  She moved to Dodge City form Garfield in 1955 and graduated from Wilcox Beauty Academy in Dodge City. She was the owner and operator of Marjory's Beauty Shop in Dodge City and was a member of the First Missionary Church, Dodge City, as well as the Dodge City Dollies. She was a very talented seamstress, a miniaturist and played the French horn and was part of the Cowboy Band, Dodge City Community College Band and Orchestra and played at church.

Marjory married to Harold “Naz” Nazarenus on August 26, 1956 at the Methodist Church in Garfield. He preceded her in death on September 5, 2013.

Survivors include: a son, Corbin Nazarenus and wife Terri, Divide, Colorado; a daughter, Amy Nichols and husband Kelly, Cimarron; two sisters, Evelyn Zimmer, Hutchinson and Virginia Johnson and husband Wayne, Quinlan, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Cody Nichols and wife Whitney, Scott City, Kayla Strickler and husband Duell, Dodge City, Treva VanAuken and husband Brady, Wichita, Jared Nichols and wife Janelyn, Dodge City and Alex Nazarenus, Divide, Colorado; and 10 great-grandchildren, Kinlee, Brooks, Avery, Jayton, Briggs, Lydia, Knox, Garette, Beckett and Brayson.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Eugene Tomlinson.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the First Missionary Church, Dodge City, with Rev. Adam Rankin officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 pm Tuesday in the Garfield Cemetery, Garfield. Visitation will be Monday, August 16, 2021 from noon to 8:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.
