It was a wet night in Hays and rainfall continued into Thursday morning.
As of 8 a.m., the official measurement at the K-State Agricultural Research Center south of town was 1.48 inches.
The same amount of rain, 1.48 inches, fell at the Eagle Media Center, 2300 Hall, since 6 a.m. Wednesday until 8 a.m. Thursday, with the rain continuing.
Road flooding shortly was reported after 8 a.m. by the Ellis County Sheriff's Department on U.S. Highway 40 at the intersections of 140th and 150th Avenues.
Hays is still remains behind its cumulative 159-year average rainfall by the end of June.
So far, Hays has received 8.12 inches of moisture since the first of the year. The average about by June 30 is 11.31 inches.
