The Hays USD 489 school board will consider purchasing replacement iPads for Hays Middle School students and staff at its 6:30 meeting tonight.
The $347,160 purchase is part of the district's budgeted rotation of school devices.
The board will also consider a $184,560 quote from Viztum Commercial Flooring for work at Hays Middle School. The district is still finalizing the quote for bathroom epoxy floor covering. It will recommend IronClad Concrete Coatings. The estimate is just less than $28,000.
Additional asbestos was found in the demolition phase of the renovations at Felten Elementary School. The board will consider a $29,417 change order for additional asbestos removal.
The board will also hear presentations from bidders on 7.3 acres of land north of Felten Elementary School (the former Hays Middle School).
The district accepted sealed bids for the land, but they were all well below the $630,000 appraisal.
