Jackie Dean Singleton, age 86, of Hays, Kansas, passed away peacefully at home on April 26, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on September 3, 1938, in Russell, Kansas, to Lloyd and Maxine Singleton, Jack grew up with a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for family and community. He attended Chase High School in Chase, Kansas, where he was a standout athlete and made lifelong friends.

Jack spent much of his career working in the oil patch for Tenneco Oil, a job that suited his hands-on spirit and no-nonsense attitude. Outside of work, he had a passion for old cars, enjoyed fishing whenever he had the chance, and treasured time spent with his family and friends. He was always up for a good laugh—and never turned down a cold beer with good company.

Jack is survived by his five children: Micheal (Brenda) Law of Pleasantville, WI; Robert (JoAnn) Law of Brownsdale, MN; Diana Klecker of Owen, WI; Lori Kinny of Austin, MN; and Janet Singleton of Wichita, KS. He was a proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Kenny (Pat) Singleton and Dennis (Ann) Singleton, and his sister Brenda (Kenny) Nightingale-Gomez, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Maxine; his sisters Eileen and Sherry; one niece; and two nephews.

Jack's family will remember him for his quick wit, his kind heart, and his unwavering loyalty. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral chapel.

Cremation under the direction of Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory - Brock's Chapel 2509 Vine Street Hays, Kansas 67601. Services will be held at a late date.
