LARNED - The TMP-Marian Monarchs girls track team had three individual champions on their way to a second-place finish at the Larned Invitational Friday. The Monarch boys had one first-place finish and finished fourth as a team.
TMP junior Shalee Gottschalk earned a pair of gold medals on Friday.
She finished first in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.55, beating the second-place finisher by more than two seconds.
Gottschalk also claimed the gold in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 49.21.
TMPβs Anna Cappucio finished first in the pole vault, clearing a height of 8β.
Three TMP girls medaled in the high jump.
Shyanne Yost placed second (5β0β), Tessa Wentling third (4β10β) and Aliya Seib finished fifth.
Emma Basgall finished third (15β6.24) in the long jump. Seib finished fifth.
Gottschalk recorded a distance of 33β3 and finished second in the triple jump. Seib finished sixth.
Paige Schlyer finished fifth in the girls shot put and second in discus (95β 78).
Yost finished fourth in discus.
Tessa Wentling (4th) and Emily Hipp (6th) both medaled in the girls javelin.
The Monarchs were second as a team in the 4x800 meter relay, the 4x100 meter relay and the 4x400 meter relay.
Emma Basgall finished third in the 100 meters (13.92).
Grace Schmeidler placed third in the 1600 meters and 3200 meters. Arianna Ayarza finished fifth in the 3200 meters.
Rachel Staab was third in the 400 meters.
Gracyn Schippers brought a third-place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:45.41.
The TMP boys earned a fourth place finish.
Jackson Gillespie earned a third place finished in the long jump and fifth in the triple jump.
Mario Valencia finished fourth in the high jump and tied for fifth in the pole vault.
Braydon Gilmore earned a third place finish and Diego Fernandez fourth in the menβs discus.
The TMP boys 4x800 relay team finished third and fourth in the 4x400 relay.
Mattias Marintzer earned a fifth place finish in the 300 meter hurdles. Marintzer also finished fourth in the 3200 meters and Zechariah Dickman earned a third place finish.
Caden Becker placed second in the 800 meters with a time of 2:13.53.
