HAYS – The TMP offense continued to put up big numbers, and the pitchers came through, leading TMP to a doubleheader sweep of the Goodland Cowgirls on Monday in Hays.

GAME: TMP 12, Goodland 2 (5 innings)
TMP scored in four of five innings, and out-hit the Goodland Cowgirls 14-4 in the first game on their way to a 12-2 run-rule victory in five innings.

Goodland opened the scoring with a single run in the first inning, but TMP tied the game on an error in the bottom of the inning, ahead of a Bria Windholz RBI single putting TMP up 2-1.

Those two runs would be all that starter Brynn Rebel needed as she improved to 5-0 in the circle.

She allowed just one earned run, two total runs, on four hits in five shutout innings. She also struck out eight.

Lead 2-1, TMP sent nine to the plate in a five-run second inning.

The Monarchs loaded the bases and then scored on an error, a sacrifice bunt, a sacrifice fly and a two-run Hannah Rose triple for a 7-1 lead.

Goodland got a run back in the top of the third inning for a 7-2 lead.

Rebel helped her cause in the circle, with a two-run home run in the fourth inning for a 9-2 lead.

Rose added a third run in the inning with an RBI double, putting TMP up 10-2 through four innings.

TMP added an Addison Watson sacrifice fly and a Paige Koenigsman RBI double for the 12-2 run-rule victory.

Brynn Schoepf, Brynn Rebel and Paige Koenigsman each collected three hits.

GAME 2: TMP 11, Goodland 0 (5 innings)
The Monarchs scored at least one run in the final four innings, and Bria Windholz threw five shutout innings in an 11-0 TMP victory.

Both pitchers worked around traffic in the first inning before TMP scratched across the game’s first run, a Raegan Allen RBI groundout.

Goodland threatened in the third inning, but Windholz left a pair of runners aboard in the top of the inning.

In the bottom of the inning, TMP loaded the bases with one out for Paige Koenigsman, who singled in a run for a 3-0 lead.

In the bottom of the fourth, Adi Gottschalk singled, making it 4-0 TMP.

TMP scored runs on a groundout, a Rebel RBI single and an error, making it 7-0 through four innings.

Raegan Allen left the bottom of the 5th with a lead-off triple, the Monarchs followed that with a run on an error for an 8-0 lead.

It was 9-0 when a run scored on a hit off the bat of Gottschalk, putting TMP up 9-0.

Three batters later, pinch hitter Katie Herrman recorded her first hit of the season, a double to deep center, plating two runs and giving TMP the 11-0 walk-off win.

Brynn Schoepf collected three hits for the second straight game, and the sixth time in her career.

Paige Koenigsman and Katie Herrman each drove in two runs in the Monarchs 11-0 run-rule victory.

TMP improved to 10-0 and will travel to Ellis on Tuesday.
