MANHEIM, Pa. - The Fort Hays State wrestling team moved to 17th in the latest NWCA Division II Coaches Rankings, released Friday (Jan. 20) by the National Wrestling Coaches Association. The Tigers still have two individuals listed in the individual rankings in Tereus Henry and Cade Lindsey.
Both Henry (197 pounds) and Lindsey (174 pounds) now rank fourth in their respective classes, with Henry falling one spot from the last release and Lindsey jumping up two spots. The Tigers earned 24 points in the voting process, two more than they earned in the previous release.
Henry carries a record of 24-2, including an 19-1 mark over his last 20 matches. More than half of Henry's wins have been bonus-point victories, including three pins, four technical falls and eight major decisions. The El Paso, Texas native is a perfect 8-0 in duals this season.
Lindsey enters the weekend 28-4 overall, including a 7-1 mark in dual competition. Lindsey has been dominant over the last two months, with the Derby, Kan. native turning in a record of 18-1 since the start of December. Eleven of those 18 wins have been bonus-point victories, including six pins, four technical falls and one major decision.
Five of FHSU's final seven dual opponents are also listed in the latest Top 25, including top-ranked Central Oklahoma, No. 3 Nebraska-Kearney, No. 20 Northern State and Chadron State and Northern State in a tie for No. 23.
