🥎TMP softball drops a pair of games against Great Bend

HAYS – The Great Bend Panthers softball team knocked off TMP in both games of a doubleheader Thursday in Hays.

TMP jumped out to a 2-0 lead in game one on a two-run double by Karli Komarek but Great Bend answered with two in their half of the third inning tying the game at 2.

The Panthers broke a 2-2 tie with a four-run fourth inning on their way to a 10-3 win.

Komarek and Alexa Ryersee both were 2-for-3 at the plate. Ryersee drove in one run.

Kyleigh Allen suffered the loss for TMP. She allowed nine runs, six earned, with two walks and two strikeouts in six innings.

In game two the Monarchs again took a 2-0 early lead. They scored the game’s first run on a wild pitch in the first inning. In the second inning TMP’s Alexa Ryersee drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.

Trailing 2-0 Great Bend would answer in a big way. The Panthers scored eight runs in the third inning and six each in the fourth and fifth on their way to a 20-2.

Madison Augustine allowed seven runs; six earned on six hits in three innings and suffered the loss.

TMP drops to 8-8.

The Monarchs are at Garden City on Tuesday.
