⚾ Larks close out league play with win over Angels

HAYS – Brady Evans had three hits and the Hays Larks used a couple of four-run innings to beat the Gameday Angels 10-4 and finished off a two-game Rocky Mountain Baseball League series Tuesday night at Larks Park.

The Larks scored four runs in the first then after the Angels scored two in the third, had four in the third. They added two in the sixth as they won their fifth straight.

Evans had three hits and drove in two runs. Tyler LaRue and Garrett Greull both had a pair of doubles. Gruell and Tyler Schott each had two RBIs.

Dayne Pengelly (2-0) allowed one earned run on three hits with four strikeouts and two walks in three innings of relief and picked up the win.

Starter Kam Walton allowed two runs on one hit with three strikeouts and three walks over the first four innings. Kaleb Meredith and Jett Lodes both pitched a scoreless inning of relief.

The Larks close out the regular season with a three-game non-league series with the North Platte Plainsmen beginning Friday at 7:00 p.m.
