TREGO COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 8a.m. Monday in Trego County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2025 Freightliner Cascadia driven by James T. Turner, 59, Stillwater, Oklahoma, was westbound on Interstate 70 just east of K-147. The semi traveled off the roadway gradually, then travelled around 1,800 feet through multiple fences and stopped in a quasi-jackknife facing south on its wheels in the north ditch.
The driver had a suspected medical issue which caused the vehicle to leave the road. EMS transported him to Wesley Medical Center. He was properly restrained, according to the KHP.
