Patrick Urban Sr., age 55, formerly of Hays, of Saratoga, Wyo., passed away on December 21, 2020, at his home in Saratoga with his family by his side.
He was born on December 29, 1964, in Wichita, KS to Charles and Carol Ann (Legleiter) Urban. He was a 1983 graduate of West Wichita High School. He met and married Dorothy Steckline on August 7, 1998, in Hays, KS.
Patrick was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed spending his time fishing, and hunting alongside his four boys. Patrick was a cub scout leader and received great joy in developing and fostering young men, he also loved cheering on the Denver Broncos.
He was a Carpenter by trade and for 20+ years worked for Lloyd and Ida Lundy at the Best Western Vagabond Hotel.
Patrick is survived by his mother: Carol Ann Urban of Seldon, KS; wife: Dorothy Urban of Hays; four sons: Joseph Steckline Urban, Charles Urban, Francis Urban, and Patrick Urban, Jr., all of Hays; four brothers: Chris Urban of Hutchison, KS, Steve (Ann) Urban of Galesburg, IL, Dennis Urban of Leoville, KS, and Tim Urban of Seldon, KS; and one sister: Gwen (Darren) Schultz of Grainfield, KS. He was preceded in death by his father and three brothers.
Memorial Mass will be Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St Mary’s Catholic Church, 703 Monroe Street, Ellis, KS 67637, with inurnment following the services in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St Mary’s Church and School, Ellis.
