BUNKER HILL — The Graham County Community Foundation has awarded Smoky Hills PBS with a grant for $1,000. The grant will support the literacy initiative program of Smoky Hills PBS.
The Smoky Hills PBS literacy leadership program provides the following:
· Children’s programming on Smoky Hills PBS
· Book distribution program (First Book Club) that will provide books to children attending Head Start programs in Graham County.
“At Smoky Hills PBS, we encourage a love of reading at a young age and that is exactly what this grant will help provide to the young kids in Graham County,” said Kelli King, director of finance and admin of Smoky Hills PBS. “With the support of this great foundation we are also able to continue great PBS KIDS programming for children across our viewing area.”
The Graham County Community Foundation provides small grants within the community to meet the Graham County community’s charitable, religious, educational, and scientific needs.
Smoky Hills PBS serves 71 counties in central and western Kansas.
