TOPEKA - Thanks to the new qualifying standards, TMP-Marian has for more heading to next week's state track and field meet.
KSHSAA's new system as the top three in each event from every regional qualified along with the top four performances in each event from around the state.
Under the new system, Macara Rohr, who placed fourth in the girls triple jump at Thursday's Hill City 2A Regional has qualified along with Tessa Wentling who was fifth in the high jump. Avery Montgomery placed fifth in the 100 hurdles and the girls 4x100 relay, which finished fourth, has also qualified.
The state meet is next Friday and Saturday in Wichita.
