🏈 KSHSAA releases football postseason brackets

TOPEKA - Following the final games of the regular season on Friday, the Kansas State High School Activities Association released the postseason brackets on Saturday.

In class 5A, the Hays High Indians (4-4) finished tied with Salina Central in 5A west and earned the nine-seed by way of a tiebreaker.

The Indians will open the 5A playoffs on the road at No. 8 seed in the west Andover (4-4).

Andover is coming off a 31-13 loss to Andover Central, and Hays High lost to Liberal Friday night 20-19.

In class 1A the TMP-Marian Monarchs (5-3) finished third in 1A-district 8 and earned the No. 11 seed in the west and will travel to Sterling Friday to take on the six-seed Bears (5-3).

Sterling finished second in 1A-district 7.

Plainville (6-2) won district eight, and as the No. 4 seed in the west, they will host Inman (4-4), who earned the 13-seed in the west.

Smith Center (4-4) is the No. 7 seed in the west and will host 10-seed Medicine Lodge (5-2).

In eight-man division one, Ellis (5-3) travels to Rawlins County (6-2), Trego (4-4) hosts Hill City (5-2), and La Crosse (2-6) travels to Hoxie (8-0). All three of those games will be played on Thursday, Oct. 31.

In 8-man D2, Blue Valley (5-2) is at Osborne (5-2), and Langdon-Fairfield (3-4) travels to Victoria (8-0).
