
Max Colvin Ball was born October 5, 1927, in Salina, KS to Daniel Colvin
and Esther Louisa (Mortiner) Ball. He passed away September 30, 2021, at
the Norton County Hospital.
Max grew up in Salina where he graduated from high school. He was
baptized in the Methodist Church as a child. Max married Theda Maryse
Minor on October 7, 1956, in Leoti, KS. They moved to Norton in 1960 when
the lake was being built as he was a Mason. Max was known for his
masonry work on the First State Bank in Norton and the bath houses at
the lake. In their spare time, Max and Theda loved fishing, turkey
hunting, and bird watching together. He enjoyed buying, repairing, and
then selling firearms and attending gun shows.
Max was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Theda in 2020, and
sister, Martha Laas. He is survived by his son, Randall (Tammy) Ball of
Norton; daughters, Patricia (Dave) Fischer of Norton and Tammie (Dan)
Bainter of Norton; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren;
nieces, Brenda Wikoff and Dana Livingston, and nephew, Tim Laas.
Private family services will be held a later date. Memorial
contributions may be made to the Norton Senior Center and sent in care
of Plumer-Gobber Funeral Home 215 W. Main St., Norton, KS 67654.
