Vickie I. Shelor, age 69, of Hays, Kansas died Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.  She was born March 2, 1951, at Dodge City, Kansas to James D. and Maxine (Weaver) Shelor.  

A DSNWK resident, Vickie grew up and attended grade school in Dodge City, She lived in Winfield, Parsons and Norton before moving to Hays in 1973.  Vickie lived in her own apartment before moving into Esther's Place in January of 2015. She worked at Employment Connections for many years. She and four other individuals had a business called "Good Times Friends."  Vickie also worked other jobs while at Employment Connections.  She enjoyed going to the Reed Center, going on trips and outings with her roommates, working on puzzles, coloring, knitting, sewing, making blankets and making beautiful hand work. She was a wiz at word searches! 

Survivors include her brother, James Shelor, Victoria, KS; her cousin, Ron Shelor and wife, Pam, Topeka, KS; her DSNWK family members, Sara Biggs, Nancy Duffy-Auer, LeAnna Carrier and numerous other DSNWK care givers.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays. 

Services will be livestream at https://youtu.be/L2R2eORpOdk .  Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City, Kansas.

The family suggests memorials to Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas in care of the mortuary.
