The National Weather Service in Dodge City is predicting strong winds Tuesday afternoon as a cold front pushes into northwest Kansas.
Gust of up to 40 mph are expected through the afternoon and evening, diminishing after midnight.
With low humidity levels associated with the front, the NWS is warning of elevated risk of fires.
The skies are expected to be clear throughout the remainder of the week, with high temperatures in the mid- to upper 80s through Thursday. The expected high on Friday is 96.
