Lucy Mary Torrez, 90, died May 16, 2021, at Country Place Living of Larned, Kansas. She was born April 5, 1931, in Hoisington, Kansas, the daughter of Carlos and Virginia M. (Orozco) Mancha.
On March 24, 1949, she married Jesus Torrez in Great Bend, Kansas. They later divorced.
Lucy was a longtime resident of Albert moving to Great Bend in 2009. She retired after 22 years from Fuller Brush, Inc.
Survivors include; three children, Rogelio “Roger” Torrez and wife Joy of Great Bend, Loretta Trapp of Great Bend, and Joseph Torrez and wife Darlene of Albert; a brother, David Mancha of Garden City; six sisters, Alberta Ledesma of Hoisington, Jessie Baca of Pueblo, Colorado, Carol Galloway of Seminole, Florida, Gina Zamarripa of Great Bend, Rose Martinez of Garden City, and Juanita Long of Omaha, Nebraska; six grandchildren, Laurie Kurtz, Jessica Davis, Michael Torrez, Kelsey Kelly, Vanessa Torrez, and Corey Torrez; and 13 great grandchildren and one more great granddaughter on the way; also a great great grandson on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Tom and John Mancha; a sister, Carmen Barrientez; grandson, Joshua Cape; and a granddaughter, Abby Prescott.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place.
Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 21, 2021, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Don Bedore presiding. Inurnment will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Hoisington.
