Economic incentives for Gella's expansion, housing developments up for review by Hays City Commission

The advancement of several housing developments in Hays, including Tallgrass Addition on the east side, and the downtown Depot Addition and Chestnut Suites, will be discussed during today's Hays City Commission work session.

Commissioners will also consider the issuance of industrial revenue bonds for expansion of Gella’s Diner and Liquid Bread Brewing Company, LLC.

It wants to expand into the adjacent building to the east which would be used for event space and Fort Hays Tech-North Central culinary classes. 

Jeff Boyle, director of parks, will present recommended admission fee increases in 2025 for the Fort Hays Municipal Golf Course, Hays Aquatic Park and Wilson Pool. Boyle will also talk about needed concrete repairs at the aquatic park.

The issuance of general obligation bonds for Tallgrass housing development as well as the city’s financing of new automated meter  infrastructure for the water and wastewater system will be presented by Kim Rupp, finance director.
