After a sunny, calm Friday with a high in the mid-40s, another blast of winter weather is expected to arrive in the Hays area overnight and into Saturday.
A winter weather advisory has been issued for Ellis County, with counties to the north and west under a winter storm warnings and watches.
With Saturday's high expected to be right at the freezing point, snow could be mixed with freezing rain, which could make travel hazardous.
There is a 40 percent chance the Hays area will receive at least 4 inches of snow, the National Weather Service in Dodge City predicted.
Areas father north and west could receive 8 or more inches of snow, the NWS said.
The skies will clear Sunday, but another chance of snow returns throughout Monday and into Tuesday.
