Hays ties record high on Wednesday; more warm, dry in forecast

Hays tied a record high set in 1934 by reaching a high of 95 degrees on Wednesday.

The forecast calls for the weather in Northwest Kansas to remain hot and dry for the remainder of the week.

Highs will be in the mid-to-upper 80s through Sunday.

The high is forecast to drop by 20 degrees to 67 degrees on Monday, but no rain is in the forecast through Wednesday.

Hays has had no measurable moisture so far in the month of October. 

On the year, Hays has received 20.64 inches compared to an average moisture accumulation of 21.42 inches expected by the end of October.
