⚾ HHS lands three on the KABC All-State Team, Dreiling 5A Player of the Year

The Hays High baseball team landed three players on Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches 5A All-State team released Friday evening. Senior standout Dylan Dreiling was named the 5A Player of the Year and was named to the first team as an outfielder and honorable mention as a pitcher. He's joined by fellow seniors Garrett Wellbrock and Noah Weimer who were both honorable mention.

It's the second consecutive year Dreiling has been honored by the KABC after being named a first team pitcher in 2021.

Despite battling injuries most of the season, Dreiling set new school records with a .597 batting average and 10 home runs. He also drove in a team-high 38 runs. He was named to the KABC first team as an outfielder. Dreiling was also named the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year.

Wellbrock was named honorable mention as both a middle infielder and pitcher. He finished the season with a .359 batting average with 15 RBIs and a team-high 29 runs scored. He went 6-1 on the mound with complete games in six of his seven starts and a 2.06 ERA over a season-high 51.0 innings pitched.

Weimer batted .368 and drove in seven runs while scoring 17 times. starting the entire season a second base.
